Plateau has been the black sheep of the dual lands for years. I was wondering if anything could really happen to get them into the same stratosphere as the other duals? Does it need a White / Red Combo or just overall increase in popular cards for the colors?
I know there are people out there just hoping the price spikes? What will it take? Maybe it'll never happen?

If Patriot's ascension to the top tier without Plateau was any sign, I don't think this dual will ever really go up in value. R/W is one of the worst color combinations to be in these days, and you need a third color to balance it out. In patriot's case, you're going to play every possible dual in the other colors/that share a card with blue before you play the first plateau.

"Swiggety Swagtusk, Here comes the Thragtusk!""The last top 8 slot went to the winner of that Death and Taxes mirror, or as I like to call it, the White Supremacy Mirror.

It'll be $100 within a year.
Plateau was appreciating when Zoo was Tier 1. Given the current direction of the format into blue-on-blue, I don't foresee much of a change. All duals will continue to rise over time, but Plateau will remain a laggard compared to other color combinations, and blue duals will always command a premium.
There are still two more sets to make Rw Minotaurs a thing.

I think what plateau needs is a reason not to run blue. Meaning it has to develop superior answers to combo decks. Thalia is a good start but red doesn't offer much outside of the colorless options of thorn and trinisphere.

Didgeridoo probably maxed out its value. I bought ALOT for 25 cents - 50 cents earlier in the year (bigup to crystalkeep for actually shipping their Whole inventory to me)
im almost sold out at 4 euroes each now :)
They have to print something insane like a wr 4/4 flash, cant be cast off islands, cant be countered, players cant play spells ever again, human goblin.
While true, it's been $30-$50 for a very, very long time.
All I can say now is that True Name Nemesis has unsettled the format, and that leaves the brewers some space to mess around with a format. There aren't any blatantly broken/solid strategies involving RWx yet, so I imagine any sort of build involving 3-4 Plateau to be a more hate-bear oriented strategy.
Maybe there's a RWB deck list floating around somewhere? Black allows access to Engineered Plague, Toxic Deluge, and hand disruption. (Still trying hard not to deviate from RW here...)
Team Italia (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/s...ck-Team-Italia) used to be a thing. Not sure if that counts though.
Red/white decks are the redheaded stepchild of legacy. I haven't seen a plateau across the table from me or anyone else for a long, long time because RW hasn't gotten much love at all and all WotC likes to print in boros are beaters that aren't close to making the cut in legacy. That and the color combination just doesn't pair together that well. I've thought about getting rid of my plateaus for quite a while and the only thing really stopping me is the potential that RW deathrite shaman gets printed or something absurd. As well as not being able to get much of anything for them. The greatest trade I ever did in the past year was trading a plateau for a city of traitors + some other random stuff before city spiked but even without the spike city is harder to find and more played than plateau (for good reason.)
$100 within a years time? If that happens I will be amazed and immediately sell all mine off before people realize that RW is still awful in all likelihood.
