    1 Dancing Ghoul (Me)
    2 Dryad Sligh
    3 UGW Thresh
    4 RGW Zoo

There was Loam Confinement, (2?) Survival Variant(s), UBG Loam-a-tog, Madness, Uber Madness, UGW Thresh (should have won), then the RGW Zoo, Rg Burn, 2 Scrubs, and there may have been one Solidarity although I didn't see it. I was expecting more people and at least 2 Goblins, but still out of those decks that top four was surprising.

    EDIT -- Fix second place.

How in the hell did a Confinement deck, much less two, lose to Zoo, and especially Burn? Luck can never be that much of a factor.

The "burn" deck was more along the lines of Dryad Sligh. I didn't get to play against it, but I saw it beat Thresh/w in the semifinals. It looked like a solid deck, really damn fast and resilient.

I'd also like to see the Dancing Ghoul list. It seemed to be getting consistant turn 3 and 4 wins. I lost to it, and I was playing Tog with 10 hard counters plus Duresses in the sideboard.

Not 4, I only saw 2, and there might have been another out of the decks I didn't see.

    Lands
    11 Swamp
    4 City of Traitors

    Creatures
    2 Sutured Ghoul
    3 Phyrexian Dreadnought

    Spells
    3 Darkblast
    3 Lotus Petal
    3 Chrome Mox
    4 Corpse Dance
    4 Spoils of the Vault
    3 Doomsday
    4 Dark Ritual
    4 Unmask
    4 Duress
    4 Buried Alive
    4 Shallow Grave

    SB
    4 Engineered Plague
    4 Defense Grid
    3 Withered Wretch
    4 Pithing Needle

I looked up Phantom Ogre's primer and worked off of that (since no other build of it has ever worked well for me, and his idea of it worked well in testing in the past). So it got modified a little, and I think it's a great deck.

(Wins turn 2-4 automatically if they have no control = Win against goblins. Thanks to that little meta list I was expecting Goblins. )

@Parcher - 2 Confinement? Sorry, no, that was 2 Survival. I saw Loam Confinement lose to UGW Thresh in the first or second round, and he played Mister Solidarity some time later and lost (I don't actually know if he was playing Solidarity, that's just what I've seen him often play.)

Edit - Alright b4r0n, I guess it was Dryad Sligh then. Sorry, I only saw the last game of the UGW Thresh match and didn't see much against myself either.

So, wait, after you Doomsday, you could, say, Darkblast something during your upkeep, dredge the Darkblast, roll the Ghoul/2xDreadnought into your graveyard, draw your Shallow Grave, and win?

    That's brilliant.

iOWN: Mr. Solidarity would be Justin, just to let you know. He usually plays some sort of combo. I think I know who you are, have you played Dancing Ghoul at Thats Entertainment before? Congrats on your win BTW, Im glad to see a new face in the top 4 there.

Re: Top 4's & Top 8's - POST RESULTS HERE

Since kevdog has been busy, I will take over his duty as the person that reports the top 4's and top 8's from San Diego.

    Game Empire
    June 9th, 2006
28 people (relativly small croud) 5 rounds

    Top 4
    1st) B/w Pikula 5-0
    2nd) Vial Affinity 4-1
3rd) Mono Black Control w/ sideboard helldozer 4-1
    4th) U/w Scepter Chant 4-1

    honorable mentions:
The prize pool technically went to Top 7, but i figured Top 4 would suffice. I dont have everybody from Top 7 but it went something like this:

    1) b/w Pikula
    2) Vial Affinity
    3) Mono Black Control w/ sideboard helldozer
    4) U/w scepter Chant
    6) U/w Severance Belcher
    7) Brand *this decklist was included in the entrys for CaNGD*

We are not sure who got 5th, sorry.

    BZK! - Storm Boards

RWgb Samurai? That sounds just...sweet and scary at the same time (funnily enough, in such an aggro-format, it could work). Do you have a list available?

Re: Top 4's & Top 8's - POST RESULTS HERE

It is a really neat deck. I've played against it a few times. It functions as a mid-size aggro deck. It has all the good legendary samurai of the last block with Elmandari's call to search for specfic ones when needed, lots of spot removal (Stp, Lightning Bolts, Terminates) and equiptment. It also utilizes a lot of the lands that give legendary creatures bonuses (including the one from legends which can bounce creatures). I would say the deck is about 50/50 vs Thresh but like 65/35 vs Goblins. Its interesting, but not mindblowing.
