    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

Sorry, I made a typing error: I meant "useless if an opponent has VIALS".

However, we do agree that he is too narrow and should only be in your sideboard if you are sure to meet Merfolks at least...

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

Llawan is not good enough, because he is a far too narrow sideboard card plus useless if your opponent plays Jittes.

In my experience the mirror is won by two things:
    1. Being on the turn rather...

Re: Vampire Hexmaster + dark depths

@Lorddotm: That is true and why I originally added Lim-Dul's Vault. However, would 4 Brainstorm, 4 Sensei's Top with 8 fetches maybe not do the trick?

@Digital Evil: That is also a nice...

Re: Vampire Hexmaster + dark depths

You are absolutely right that a well-timed Wasteland, Stifle or bounce kills the token. However, these are (among Sower/Threads/Gilded Drake) sort of the only cards that kill the creature.

    But.....

Re: Vampire Hexmaster + dark depths

That's some useful advice! I prefer Engineered Explosives over Vindicate, so maybe:

    -4 Lim-Dul's Vault
+1 Swords to Plowshares (making it 4)
    +3 Engineered Explosives

    The reason for this is...

Re: Vampire Hexmaster + dark depths

Too bad this topic doesn't get any more replies, so I just post my list-to-be to open the discussion again.

I do agree that the combo could also fit in a BG Rock build as described above. However,...

    Re: [Deck] Next Level Painter

    A few questions:

    1. Did you not miss spot removal mainbord?
    2. How did Propaganda work as a 2-off?
    3. Did you ever get to cast Llawan, Cephalid Empress? Did it give you the game?

Independent of the discussion about including / excluding Brainstorm I would like to point out that Brainstorm instead of Silvergill Adept is not a good idea. In my opinion, Silvergill Adept is the...

    Re: [Deck] Next Level Painter

Yes, that is what I am saying. In the past I sometimes wished that I could search for a land rather than an artifact when playing Trinket Mage. So I agree that on paper it may look bad, but due to...

    Re: [Deck] Next Level Painter

The Seat of the Synod is questionable indeed. But in the past I sometimes just needed that extra land to go off. And so far I have seldom lost because it is an artifact land rather than another.

    Re: [Deck] Next Level Painter

I just won a 14 man local tournament with this deck:

    4 flooded strand
    4 polluted delta
    2 tundra
    2 tropical island
    2 underground sea
    2 island
    1 academy ruins
    1 seat of the synod

    Re: [DTB] Merfolk

Agreed. So IMO these are the best options to deal with it:

    1. Play 2-3 Jitte main.
    2. Play Threads of Disloyalty main.
    3. Splash white for StP and Absolute Law.

    They increase the bad matchups...

    Re: [DTW] Merfolk

I think this is kind of the right conclusion of the Wake Thrasher vs. Merfolk Sovereign discussion. Thrasher is a better topdeck being a big beater, but Sovereign has more synergy.

    About the list...

I agree with those changes as in +CounterTop, but then you should cut Winter Orb too because Winter Orb + Sensei Top isn't really going along..

    Re: WOrb aggro control

I agree about those artifact-tappers: They are overkill-cards.

I wouldn't change the number of cantrips for they give you the necessary cards like Winter Orb.

Re: UGw WOrb/Coatl Grow splits finals

I am still in doubt, because for Propaganda to be really effective (as you want it) you also need Winter Orb in play. Propaganda on itself isn't a dead card, but against Vial-decks a Winter Orb is...

Re: UGw WOrb/Coatl Grow splits finals

I think I agree that it would be better to (in my case) board against Merfolk:

    -4 Ponder
    -2 Spell Snare

    +1 WOrb
    +3 Propaganda
    +2 Trygon Predator
