    Re: [DTB] Dragon Stompy

I personally like Shard Pheonix as repeatable pyroclasm that can't be Sworded or Terminuted, but results may vary. Good luck!

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

It would be going down except it provides the necessary evasion to go over TNN and a butt of 3, making it immune to Pyroclasm, Dread of Night and Massacre effects. TNN unfortunately stonewalls...

    Re: From the Vault: Lore

As a person who personally purchased FTV-Angels, I felt horrified upon opening the package and seeing the cards curled into a U shape.

Much better in the slower matchups such as Lands, Shardless Bug and Miracles. Also good vs. Eldrazi and the mirror. Fairly useless in the faster matchups and against combo but its a great in your...

Snapcaster looks good to both flip TITI and to be a body for its bounce ability.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

I've playtested with Displacer with 10 colorless sources in a monowhite build. I've loved it as Flickerwisp 5-6. Having a 3/3 beater is honestly not that bad and it really shines when you have 3...

Re: SCG Open New Jersey discussion

That was brutal. Turn 1 chalice at 1, thoughtseize in hand, confidant, liliana, leyline, teeg... Keating's storm hate was impressive.

He needed one more spell to win it. I believe his storm count was 8 at the time.

Keating's Chalices at 1 and at 0 were impressive in game 1. Post board isn't going to get any easier for Storm.

    Re: [DTB] Death and Taxes

When my meta was 90% combo, I bit the bullet and placed 4 Elvish Spirit Guide (not dead as we can vial it in later) and 4 canonists in my 75 to deal with turn 1 and turn 2 "I win" decks. It worked...

My only concern with Grunt is that it doesn't do much the turn it comes into play other than being a big wall. An opponent has the opportunity to Treasure Cruise in their main phase before Grunt's...

Re: [SCD] Spirit of the Labyrinth

Yup. This card by itself won't make DnT tier 1. Luckily, DnT is already tier 1. :)

Re: [SCD] Chalice of the Void

X is not 0 unless they cast it for zero.

Chalice is still excellent vs. combo turn 1 and operates to shut off most delver decks as long as they don't turn 1 delver. Its a reasonable sideboard...

Great article. Was enjoyable, informative and amusing to read. Good introduction to D&T. I like your sidebooard "recommendations" in this thread as well; pretty insightful.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

I've played 3 games vs. it and have seen another DnT player play 3 games vs. it. Though both of us lost 2-1, the matchup is not unwinnable. It just takes practice and maybe more Oblivion...

Thank you for the analysis Koby.

Would we be able to extrapolate any data from the mono-colored resource denial decks placing 1/2/3 and 11th?

If you want to play a card to replace SFM, leonin arbiter sounds good in a heavy fetch environment. It also doesn't hurt us at all making it another one sided tax.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

A very basic non-E tutor board would look somewhat like this:

    4 Ethersworn Canonists
    4 Judge's familiar
    3 Jotun Grunt
    3 Dryad Militant
1 Sword of Light and Shadow

By no means am I saying...
